Bukidnon Coffee Nursery

Proposed by VARACCO, Inc., the project will upskill smallholder farmers by setting up a climate-smart nursery for high-quality coffee seedlings, using Internet of Things and nano-biosensors.

In the Philippines, an agri-business group is promoting the use of modern technology to help farmers optimize their operations and increase their yields. Moreover, it aims to attract the youth through fun farming so that they get involved again in the biggest job in the world...

VARACCO, in partnership with USAID-PEPFAR-EpiC, Angeles University Foundation, Focus Coffee Roaster, Flores & Ofrin Law Office, and Thinnkfarm, brings you our first ever basic barista and coffee workshop for our first social enterprise incubatee- RTHSN-LAKAN of Pampanga.

About 400 coffee farmers will soon be using internet-based technology to monitor and manage their farms. They have the Philippine Coffee Advancement and Farm Enterprise (PhilCAFE) project to thank. This five-year activity is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and implemented by ACDI/VOCA in the Philippines.....

A lot of Filipino farmers are still struggling to sustain their farms due to low capital and lack of access to better markets. To address this issue, many NGOs are working towards building direct market linkages between our local growers and big commercial buyers, as well as reputable financing....
